Very nice.

I liked this whole song, but I especially liked the layering of a softer-sort-of piano sound over the dubstep bass. Not (at least from most of the dubstep I listen to) a very common thing to do. It definitely worked.
One thing I would suggest, perhaps, is getting the dubstep bass to gradually fade out around 1:30 when the trance part kicks back in again. Just an idea, and this piece still gets a ten from me without it, but I think it would sound very cool if that were to happen.

Excellent.

Or4nges responds:

That.. Is actually a great idea.

I think i'll do that once I get around to finishing this

I dunno.

I would enjoy the song a lot more if you used a more melodic-sounding rather than percussive synth for the bell part. It didn't really sound like notes at some times, just hits.
Overall I'd give it a 3/5, but it could very realistically become a 4 or 5 if you used a better sample/synth.

DJSweetMotherNugget responds:

thanks, for the insight! :)

Wow!

That was great! Very big-sounding, and the lead was incredible.
May I ask what synth you were using for that?

TIMarbury responds:

Thanks! For the lead i used ReFX Nexus 2 and I used a preset called Impluser with some EQ. Its part of the Dance XP Vol 1 set.

It shows promise.

I like everything about it, especially the percussion and the filtering you used. There are nice subtle elements about it that make it enjoyable.
Make sure to tell me when you get the full song up because I'd like to hear what you've done with it.

thanks so much, im glad you can appreciate the subtle elements especially when the artist took the time to make them =P i think u just motivated me to complete it! lol =)

Excellent.

This song creates a number of different atmospheres and is perfect at all of them.
Nothing more needs to be said.

mr-jazzman responds:

Hey man, glad you liked it! =D My production skills have come infinitely further since the making of this song. In fact, I recently made a new drumstep track that sounds beautiful! =D (although I'm very nervous about uploading here for free DL lol, as I plan on eventually releasing an EP) Thanks again for the kind words man!

And, speaking of "nothing more," make sure you go check out Nothing More, an excellent band straight from San Antonio! =D They're fantastic, easily one of the best live bands I've ever seen! =)

A little empty-sounding.

You could really use a pad or some kind of background synth to fill the space between the lead and bass in each part of the song. Otherwise, good job.

Enteroar responds:

WOW. THATS JUST WHAT I WAS THINKING, I SWEAR O-0 Ill do that now lol. thanks :)

Nice.

At some points I feel there are some loops that are slightly off-beat, but I like the atmosphere of it a lot and I would probably want to use it as the menu theme to some sort of contemplative puzzle game, if I made that sort of thing.

haywirehaywire responds:

thanks

5/5, very impressive.

At first it kind of annoyed me that a guy singing in a swingy 12/8 fashion would be put on top of a 4/4 beat as is the case with many remixes, but it turned around quite nicely. Loved the synth at :43 especially.
Great job.

Bad, but I get the feeling it was intentionally so.

One minute, 29 seconds of pure hardstyle bliss.
Thank you, culmor30. This is good enough to be paid for.
